Marketing automation comparison: Segmentic vs a loyalty club

We already run a loyalty club. What does Segmentic add?

A loyalty club awards points and redeems rewards. Segmentic decides which customer gets which offer, at which moment, and what it produced. One is a rewards engine and the other is a decision engine, and Segmentic has no rewards engine.

Our take

If you have a club and it is quiet, the problem is usually not the points. It is that nobody knows what to say to whom.

A loyalty club is a ledger: who holds what, what they can redeem it for, and how that is settled. What is usually missing beside it is the decision and the contact: which member is going cold, which offer means anything to them, on which channel, and whether that offer created a purchase or simply discounted one that was coming anyway.

Segmentic is a better fit when
A team with a club whose members have gone quiet, or one that cannot say which loyalty campaign created incremental purchases.
a loyalty club is a better fit when
A business with no points, tiers or rewards at all yet. Segmentic does not build that ledger and it has to come from somewhere else.

This page does not compare one company with another. The other column is what a loyalty platform typically does, taken from the public documentation of several common ones. They differ, and yours may do something not listed here. Segmentic details come from the product and its documentation, including where we have nothing.

Loyalty and rewards platform

Complete Segmentic vs a loyalty club feature comparison

The other column is what a loyalty platform does. The first group of rows is the most important one in the table, and we lose all of it.

Decision, contact and impact

Behavioural segmentationSegmentic advantage
SegmenticLive segments from events, RFM, churn scores and customer lifetime value, with automatic entry and exit.
a loyalty clubSegments are usually built on points and purchases rather than on behaviour in an app or on a site.
Multi-step journeysSegmentic advantage
SegmenticA versioned canvas with branches, delays, goals and a human approval queue.
a loyalty clubUsually single messages on club events: you earned points, your tier changed, your points are expiring.
ChannelsSegmentic advantage
SegmenticPush with FCM, CafeBazaar, Myket, Huawei, and MQTT fallback; web push, SMS, email, in-app, on-site, templated WhatsApp, webhooks, Bale, Eitaa, and Rubika.
a loyalty clubUsually SMS, and email or push in some platforms.
Incremental impact of an offerSegmentic advantage
SegmenticControl groups, confidence intervals and estimated incremental purchases: whether the discount reached somebody who would not have bought.
a loyalty clubRedemption and usage reports. Whether the purchase would have happened anyway is not something it can say.
Behaviour outside a purchaseSegmentic advantage
SegmenticEvents from the app and site: browsing, search, abandoned carts, cancellations, support.
a loyalty clubUsually sees purchase transactions only.
Sending governanceSegmentic advantage
SegmenticConsent, subscription topics, frequency caps, quiet hours and a decision audit.
a loyalty clubRarely at this depth, because sending is a side feature of the product.

The club itself: points, tiers and rewards

What matters in practice

Why so many clubs launch and then go quiet

Holding points is not the same as being active

A member who has not visited in three months still has points and still counts as a member in the club's own report. What brings them back is a message about their situation, and that decision comes from behaviour rather than from a balance.

  • Segments on behaviour, not balances
  • Churn score and lifetime value

A discount that reaches a regular buyer is a cost, not a campaign

Part of every loyalty campaign lands on people who were going to buy regardless. The only way to see that number is to withhold the offer from part of the same audience and compare.

  • Control group on the offer
  • Estimated incremental purchases

The club stays, Segmentic sits above it

Tier and point balance arrive as profile attributes and become segment and journey conditions. The ledger stays exactly where it is, and Segmentic neither replaces it nor claims to.

  • Attributes in through the API or CSV
  • No moving the points ledger

Selection guide

Two products doing two jobs, and the answer is usually both

Choose Segmentic if

  • You have a club and a large share of its members have been inactive for months.
  • You cannot say which loyalty offer created purchases and which only gave away margin.
  • You want messages driven by behaviour in the app and on the site, not only by purchase transactions.
  • You use more than one channel and care about how many messages one person receives.

Choose a loyalty club if

  • You have no points, tiers or rewards mechanism yet and that is what you want first.
  • You need rewards redeemed at a physical point of sale.
  • A membership card or club app is part of your brand experience.

Putting Segmentic beside your loyalty club

Nothing is replaced. The points ledger stays where it is, and what enters Segmentic is each member's status, so a decision can be made on it.

  1. 1

Send tier, point balance and expiry date in as profile attributes, through the business API or CSV.

  2. 2

Install the SDK on the app and site so behaviour outside purchases is visible too.

  3. 3

Take an existing loyalty campaign, send it from Segmentic with a control group, and read its incremental purchase number.

Method and sources

The other column describes a category rather than a product, so no vendor's figures or prices appear in it, and every "usually" means exactly that. What is written about Segmentic comes from the product itself, including the four rows we lose.

  • Segmentic capabilities from the product and its documentation
  • The absence of a points engine, from the repository itself: loyalty exists only as a segment condition and a journey template
  • The other column, from the public documentation of common Iranian loyalty platforms

Straight answers

What to know before you choose

Does Segmentic issue points and tiers?

No. Segmentic keeps no point balance ledger and does not calculate tiers. It reads both as profile attributes and builds segments and journeys on them.

So we keep our existing club?

Yes. Segmentic does not do what it does. What is added is which member is contacted, when, on which channel, and how much purchasing that message created.

How do we know a loyalty offer actually worked?

By not sending it to part of the same audience. Segmentic holds a control group back and reports confidence intervals and estimated incremental purchases beside the conversion rate.

What if we have no club at all?

Then you need a loyalty platform first, not Segmentic. Segmentic works on the data a club produces and does not stand in for one.

Test the choice against your setup

Still choosing between Segmentic and a loyalty club?

If the choice is still unclear, we can review your journeys, channels, data volume, and deployment constraints together. The goal is to decide whether Segmentic belongs in the project and define a sensible pilot if it does.
